Mayor Michael Copeland
The 1984 alum is serving his third term as mayor of Olathe and president and
CEO of Security Savings Bank. Copeland also serves on the boards of the Olathe
Chamber of Commerce, the MNU Foundation, the Olathe Library and the
Advisory Council of the Health Partnership Clinic of Johnson County. He and
his wife Maria have three children, Olivia, Abigail and Joshua.

7. The final event of the weekend, the President’s
Memorial Prayer Breakfast, included a

devotional by President Robinson and quiet
moments to honor 35 individuals related to MNU
who passed away this year. Bagpipers strolled
the campus afterward, signaling the end of
Homecoming.
8. Homecoming King Mitchell Cloud, senior in
computer science, and Queen Roberta
Coons-Redig, senior in graphic design and
Spanish, were crowned at the students’
Homecoming banquet. At right is Ron Jackson,
dean of community formation.
