decorated Vietnam veteran, deliv-
ered a keynote address at a recent
Veterans Campaign event.
Marshall became involved with
the campaign after meeting the
group’s fi rst executive director, who
was part of an Iraq and Afghanistan
veterans group. Marshall says his
experience is that veterans have a
broader view of issues beyond party
labels, which he considers important
in today’s polarized political climate.
“It takes people with a fair amount
of gumption to step up into the
melee and pull us back together,”
he tells Newsmax. “And I think vets
have a pretty good shot at doing that.”
The program has received posi-
tive reviews from about 100 veterans,
