Final stage is to clean up and tighten up the line work. I used a shield only around the
muzzle area to define it from the rest of the face. Now I bring out the black which was
used only in the darkest areas and the eyes. This particular lion had a lot of black around
the bottom and one side of his mane so the previously sprayed Paynes Gray areas are
darken with the black. The pupils, lips and nose are also darkened. The background is
unmasked and the edges are given a bit of character. The white is used on only the
lightest areas and the light reflections on the stone. The lettering is pulled to show the
protected white underneath and then for kicks I added a dusting coat of Gold metallic
over the entire lion. His whiskers are added and the piece signed. After allowing the shirt
to rest for a short while, I added another dusting coat of GAC900 and then press the
shirt once more.
Told time for this painting 4 hours.
