TWSA Annual Sail-In
Celebrates 33 Years
Tacoma Women’s Sailing Association, now in its 33rd
year, had a great turnout for the Annual Sail-In Rendezvous
to Dockton’s Park on Vashon Island June 20th. Eleven boats
arrived with food and over 50 members came to picnic and
have some friendly competition building sailboats from
some basic household materials.
We were really pleased to have our founder, Marilyn
Thordarson, show up for the picnic, as she has moved to
Mesa, Arizona, and was able to come up this year. (She’s
the one in light blue on cabin top, hands and feet in the air.)
She has stayed in contact with the club since it
began in 1976.
TWSA has been providing great
opportunities for women who want to sail,
offering lessons every spring and activities and
