Clive Birdsall had been retired for a few years when he died last month.
Clive first started in the business aged just 16 – when he joined John Smiths brewery. He remained with the
company for 35 years, and during that time he established and implemented many of the principles of
machine management that have become customary today. After leaving John Smiths, he moved to Kenmar
