In Germany the trainings always
run efficiently...
Somebody might want to knock
on the doors of the Fotoakademie
Westfalen office and photo-studio
complex near Dortmund and tell
the owners there’s a recession
going on – because right now
they’re not sure they really believe
it.
Sacha Goerke, head of the imaging
services agency that has come from
nowhere to be a leader in its field in
just two years, says his business is
bucking the economic downturn. In
fact he’s convinced his company will
grow substantially through 2009.
He tells Litebook: “Of course we see
the news but so far it hasn’t affected
us at all. We are the leading provider
of imaging industry seminars and
workshops in the country – we’ll run
well over 200 next year - and we
predict the entire business will
expand in the coming months.”
Around half Fotoakademie’s trade is
centred on providing seminar and
workshop training for both
professional photographers and
advanced amateurs – and the other
50% of the company’s revenue
comes from its highly-rated
commercial photography division,
which has recently included
campaigns for Mercedes and also
the creation of imaging collateral for
Roquefort cheese.
