Breakspoll 2009 set to be the biggest event yet
Breakspoll — is shooting for the moon this year,
with an expanded two-day event.
The breaks double header takes place at Fabric
on Thursday 26th February and at Fabric’s new
venue matter at Friday 27th February, aiming
to prove that the genre remains in rude health
as well as bigging up the scene’s movers and
shakers.
The Fabric event will kick with the Breakspoll
awards ceremony, shining a spotlight on the
latest young innovators who are contributing
to the genre’s ever-evolving face, as well as
showing respect to the original godfathers who
continue to represent the genre. And if you
want to cut some rug, fear not as there will be
an immense bruk out featuring the best DJs
from all areas of the breaks spectrum.
Established greats Ali B, Bassbin Twins, Tayo
and Aquasky rub shoulders with B-more bad
boy Tittsworth, break-steppers Reso vs ID, the
hip-hop-fuelled Beat Assassins and DJ Adsorb
to name only a few in the killer line-up.
The following night at matter is entirely
dedicated to getting down and throwing shapes,
as the state-of-the-art Greenwich venue throws
open its doors for a mammoth breaks smash
down. The full bill is top secret and being kept
tightly under-wraps, but rest assured that it’s
set to be special.
