AGC volunteers are shown working on the Morgan’s Inspiration Island project in San Antonio. This ultra-accessible water park, scheduled to open in 2017, is designed to accommodate guests with special needs.


Inspiration Island, led the charge and worked with a team to bring together over 200 volun- teers for this undertaking. Volunteers built the water park’s main building structure, bathroom facilities and buildings for pump houses. Over 30 construction firms touched the project, do- nating approximately $450,000 worth of work. Morgan’s has hired contractors to complete the remainder of the splash park, which is sched- uled to open in the spring of 2017.

In addition to handing out awards and spon- soring charitable construction activities, AGC Charities also has an Assistance Program that members can utilize. Through this program, grants are routinely given to humanitarian proj- ects with a construction angle. For example, if a student chapter wants to spend its spring break rebuilding a tornado-ravaged town, en- dowments from the organization help make that happen.
