Stars Aligning at Poppy Hills I


t’s still a bit early, but the stars are already aligning for the 2016 Nature Valley First Tee Open at Pebble


Beach and Poppy Hills. Among the pros who have already confirmed for


the annual Champions Tour event, slated for Sept. 13- 18, are two-time Masters champion Bernhard Langer, crowd favorite John Daly and 2014 First Tee Open champion John Cook. Langer hasn’t played in the event since 2013 so


he’ll be playing the new Poppy Hills for the first time. Ditto the dapper Daly, who turned 50 in April. One of the most unique events in golf, the First

of Fame Night, to be held Thursday of tournament week at Poppy Hills. 2016 inductees are Hall of Famer Tom Watson, The First Tee CEO Joe Louis Barrow Jr., women’s golf pioneer Helen Lengfeld, amateur great Charles Seaver and former NCGA president Derrell Biddy (Distinguished Service Award).
