V-855 and V-857 high-load linear stage series
Physik Instrumente has expanded its portfolio for industrial precision automation with the V-855 and V-857 high-load linear stage series. With these the firm now offers cost-efficient positioning systems for processing and inspection tasks that require high speed and repeatability over long travel ranges. These series are suitable, among others, for
applications in electronics manufacturing and micro assembly, for testing sensors, or for use in inkjet printing processes. The linear stages are designed for industrial
XLA 1 mini linear actuator
Xeryon has launched mini linear actuator XLA 1, based on ultrasonic piezo technology. Thanks to its size (22.7 x 14.8 x 5.4mm) it will be extremely useful in industries such as imaging, space, metrology and many more. Xeryon’s engineers are able to use an
ultrasonic piezo motor within the actuator. This allows for speed up to 1,000mm/s and precision levels up to 78nm. Depending on the application, the travel
range can be changed from 5 to 185mm, and the lifetime of the actuator is well over 100km. Xeryon has also designed another
actuator, called the XLA 3. Although slightly larger than the XLA 1, with its 3 Newton motor this actuator can move a much larger payload with the same precision, lifetime and speed.

ANALYSIS, TEST AND MEASUREMENT Infinity8 microscope camera series
Teledyne Lumenera, a Teledyne Technologies company and part of the Teledyne Imaging group, has released its Infinity8 microscope camera series. Models in the series range in resolution
from 2 to 20MP. Using the latest in advanced CMOS sensor technology, the cameras address the needs of fluorescence imaging, as well as produce vivid colour images for use in education and lab settings. The new camera body provides a heat-
MultiHarp 150 firmware update
PicoQuant has released a free firmware update for several models of its MultiHarp 150 high- throughput multichannel event timers. A major feature of this update is the
improvement of the temporal resolution from 10 to 5ps for the MultiHarp 150 4P, 8P and 16P, without affecting other parameters such as data throughput or dead time. Another feature is a programmable input
hysteresis for noise suppression in difficult environments. These MultiHarp 150 models provide excellent temporal resolution and feature sub-nanosecond dead time, which makes them an ideal choice of TCSPC

electronics for fast and precise fluorescence lifetime imaging (rapidFLIM) and high throughput multichannel photon correlation. For customers who already own a MultiHarp
150 with 10ps temporal resolution, the update process is simple and free. Devices from the MultiHarp product line
are easy to use, and feature versatile USB 3.0 tabletop units with either 4, 8, 16 or 64 detection channels and a common SYNC channel, making them a great choice for many time-resolved applications in life and materials sciences, as well as metrology and single photon-based quantum technologies.

dissipating design that reduces noise, without the need for costly fans or cooling systems. The CMOS sensors selected for the new microscope cameras also enable performance. Key features include: four new
microscope camera models with resolutions from 2 to 20MP with global and rolling shutter CMOS sensors for brightfield and fluorescence applications; new camera housing design for improved heat dissipation without additional cooling; licence included for Infinity Analyse, the latest version of Teledyne Lumenera’s microscopy software; and compatible with all C-mount microscope brands.

applications with high operating cycles over long travel ranges: 3-phase linear motors with recirculating ball bearing guides make a constant load to 1,000N, accelerations to
5m/s², and velocities to 5,000mm/s possible. High-resolution linear encoders ensure a high tracking accuracy, minimum tracking errors and short settling times. The calibrated bidirectional repeatability of the linear stages is ±0.5µm. For multi-axis applications, the linear stages can easily be combined to gantry set-ups. The axes can be assembled individually thanks to the optionally available motion platform and the triple M6 hole pattern. Because of the slim design of 132mm maximum width, they can be integrated in a space-saving manner into compact machine assemblies.
