TE Connectivity M8/M12 cable assemblies www.te.com

JGR Optics automated loss meter

TE Connectivity has made available its range of M8/M12 cable assembly solutions for Fieldbus data communications. Te new A and B-coded M8/M12

cable assemblies have 360-degree shielding against EMI for complete protection for signal and data transmission, and are rated IP67 for resistance to dust and water. Te assemblies are over-moulded in either PVC or halogen-free polyurethane (PUR) cables, suitable for drag chain applications or torsional stress, depending on customer performance requirements. Tey come with various standard cable length options from 0.5 to 15m. Assemblies can be produced in many customer-specific plug-and-

play configurations to enable design flexibility and quick installation in most industrial environments. Tey can be delivered quickly, thanks to local stocks around the world, low minimum order quantities and a worldwide sample service that meets customer needs for short go-to- market times. Fieldbus accounts for 42 per cent

of the industrial network market and continues to grow at around 6 per cent per year. Particularly practical in applications around the base of the automation pyramid, Fieldbus is a critical element of the industrial internet of things and beyond for devices that do not require large bandwidth but do benefit from power and signal in the same cable.

www.jgroptics.com Te RL1 automated return loss meter from JGR Optics is available to ship. Te first prototype was displayed at OFC last year. It then went through rigorous qualifications and slight design changes based on feedback from visitors. Te RL1 has been meticulously designed to feature the fastest and most accurate mandrel- free insertion loss and return loss measurements available in its class of test equipment. Te RL1 was created with

flexibility in mind, in order to keep up with new applications and industry requirements. It is designed to be chassis modular, allowing for

quick chassis-to-chassis pairing via USB or Ethernet connection. Te meter can be connected directly to an SX1 switch for multi-fibre testing. It takes full control of the switch, automating measurements while storing all references and results inside the RL21. Te RL1 is ready to be the

measurement equipment selected for a fully automated line by using Ethernet to synchronise automated mechanical movements with remote measurements. Te RL1 is the newest product in a collection of test equipment to be released by the company.
