POSITIONING EQUIPMENT
NanoScan OP400 objective positioner
Prior Scientific has released the NanoScan OP400, a piezo- based objective positioner. Prior Scientific acquired Queensgate in 2018 and the NanoScan OP400 combines Prior’s expertise in delivering microscopy solutions with Queensgate’s nanopositioning technology. The NanoScan OP400 provides a
rapid step and settle time. Its accuracy and resolution originates from its unique mechanical design and integral capacitive feedback sensors. The OP400 is compatible with most microscopes and objective lenses, and has a range of optimised settings for different objective sizes, weights, and performance needs: the user simply selects the best setting for their application. Coupled with the Queensgate
NPC-D-6110 digital controller, the system is easy to use and quick to set up, using standard 0-10V analogue input and output. The digital control technology allows excellent control of stage movement with variable acceleration/ deceleration algorithms, which improves step settle time by reducing overshoot and preventing stage ringing. The enhanced features of the
NPC-D-6110 digital controller allow the user to configure constant velocity ramps, using digital trigger outputs at user-defined absolute positions, and control external equipment, such as cameras, offering unparalleled acquisition rates.

ANALYSIS, TEST AND MEASUREMENT Zeiss Xradia 620 Versa RepScan
Zeiss has introduced the Zeiss Xradia 620 Versa RepScan – a submicron-resolution, 3D non- destructive imaging solution for inspection and measurement that accelerates time to market for advanced IC packages. Using 3D x-ray microscopy with Zeiss’s
Resolution at a Distance technology and analytical software, the Zeiss Xradia 620 Versa RepScan provides rich volumetric and linear measurements of buried features in the most advanced packages. This cannot be achieved with existing methods, such as physical cross- section, 2D x-ray and microCT. The result is higher-accuracy engineering data that can be used to reduce development and yield learning cycles of advanced packages. The Zeiss Xradia 620 Versa RepScan supports design verification, product development, process optimisation and quality assurance/ control of complex fine-pitch 3D architectures,
SPECTROSCOPY NeoSpectra-Scanner
Si-Ware Systems is introducing a handheld material analysis scanner with plug-and-play development capability for rapid deployment in the field or on the factory floor. The NeoSpectra-Scanner is built around Si-Ware’s NeoSpectra spectral sensor technology, with a wide spectral range for many applications. A market-ready tool for resellers, it is expected to help drive on- site material analysis into a broad range of industries. The NeoSpectra-Scanner enables users to add on-site intelligence in their operations, instantly identifying and quantifying the composition of materials used in farming,
food processing, and industry. With the device’s streamlined five-step application development, resellers and direct users can quickly deploy the tool to the field for their market of choice. The NeoSpectra core technology is already in use in portable soil
analysis and animal feed scanning, and in health and beauty applications such as hair analysis at professional
salons. The Neospectra-Scanner runs on two 18650 batteries and when fully charged can execute more than 1,000 scans. NeoSpectra-Scanner prototypes for early
adopters will be available in October, with full commercial availability in Q1 2020.

PHOTONIC INTEGRATED CIRCUITS R12900U micro PMT
Hamamatsu Photonics now offers a new micro PMT encapsulated in a plastic package ideal for downsizing medical diagnostic devices and environmental analysers.
34 Electro Optics October 2019 The R12900U houses the ‘world’s
smallest’ photomultiplier tube in a miniature plastic package designed to easily mount on electronic circuit boards. Installing this new micro PMT to serve as a photodetector
means equipment, such as environmental analysers and portable medical diagnostic devices, can now be drastically downsized for convenient use, such as at patient bedsides.
This new micro PMT is available
for sale starting from 1 October 2019, mainly for medical device and analytical instrument manufacturers in domestic and overseas markets.
