LEADER JESSICA ROWBURY

Collaboration is key

In a bid to better understand the professional challenges you face, and in turn produce content that helps you explore commercial opportunities and form valuable connections, we are carrying out readership surveys starting this month. One theme that underlines the health

of the photonics sector – and a frequent talking point at events – is the need to improve links between academia and industry. If you are an academic institution that has partnered with industry, a commercial entity that works with universities or a spin-out from a research centre, we want to hear from you. By understanding how organisations work together, identifying what hinders cooperation, and hearing opinions on how collaboration could improve, we hope to gain insights that will benefit you.

Photonics is a fragmented industry

with ever-increasing applications and technologies; fostering better relationships will no doubt benefit the whole community. We will be sending out links to our first

survey in our upcoming newslines and there will be information online about how to get involved. Alternatively, please email jessica.rowbury@europascience.com to find out more.
