CLS-221 Camera Link simulator Vivid Engineering has introduced the CLS-221 Camera Link simulator, an affordable, high- performance video test pattern generator that supports all video formats, including those introduced in the new version 2.1 specification.

Fully programmable video timing enables the CLS-221 to mimic the characteristics of almost any camera. New features include: enhanced timing performance; Bayer colour support; and additional video patterns. The CLS-221 is useful for the development and testing of Camera Link components and systems. www.vividengineering.com

MitySOM-A10S-DSC processor board Critical Link has released the MitySOM-A10S- DSC processor board for the next generation of embedded imaging applications. The board features dual-side connectors for stack-through configurations. The system-on-module features the Intel/Altera Arria 10 SoC with dual-core Arm, and up to 480KLE FPGA fabric. The module includes on-board power supplies, two DDR4 RAM memory subsystems, and a rich set of user interfaces.

The A10 board supports both OpenCL and

high-level synthesis tools for accelerating design cycles and targeting C/C++ code to the FPGA. The MitySOM-A10S-DSC processor with embedded Linux offers operating system support, versatility and ease of customisation for complex imaging platforms.

Applications include machine vision, test and measurement, embedded instrumentation, industrial automation and control, and industrial and medical instrumentation. Critical Link demonstrated a 50-megapixel imaging platform

Techspec UCi fixed focal length lenses

Swiron 2.8/50 The new Swiron 2.8/50 from Schneider-Kreuznach is a high- performance lens with a 50mm focal length, which is fitted with a C or V mount. It is robust and insensitive to rough ambient conditions. Standard features include secure locking of the iris and focus settings, and a SWIR coating of 900nm to 1,700nm. The lens is suitable for high-resolution sensors with a pixel size of up to 12.4µm and a 25.6mm

image circle. A special lacquer that reduces stray light guarantees optimum imaging performance. Designed for working distances from 0.25m to 2.5m, and with a distortion of less than 1 per cent, the lens is ideal for fluid inspection, biopharmaceuticals or solar inspection. It is also suitable for lidar applications in agriculture, and can be used in food control and hyperspectral imaging. www.schneiderkreuznach.com

Edmund Optics has introduced its Techspec UCi series of fixed focal length lenses. Designed for space- limited applications, these lenses are ultra-compact instrumentation (UCi) versions of Edmund Optics’s UC series of fixed focal length lenses, using the same optics. The UCi series is ideal for OEM applications requiring small, robust and lightweight imaging tools. The lenses feature 4K

resolution; they are designed for small pixels less than 2.2µm and are offered in multiple fixed apertures. They are ideal for use with M12 x 0.5 S-mount cameras. The UCi series has 21 models with focal lengths of 4mm, 6mm or 12mm, and feature working distances that are either very short or zero. Each lens has a MgF2

anti-reflective coating, which

offers maximum transmission from 400-700nm. www.edmundoptics.eu
