Near-Death Exper ences

know what many near-death survivors have discovered: there is no death. Death has been reported to be a glorious release into greater awareness, light, love and joy. The International Association for Near Death Studies (IANDS) offers some answers for those suffering in the wake of the recent deaths in Orlando. Their annual conference will be in Orlando, Florida, July 28-31. People from all over the world will come together to explore the extraordinary and discover the many insights gained in such experiences. Near-death experiencers often gain greater insight into the nature of life. Indeed, as the stories of those who have had NDEs and other extraordinary spiritual experiences become more and more popular, the awareness gained is helping to change the world. IANDS reports on their website (
IANDS.org): “Bereaved individuals have reported fi nding peace and comfort from learning certain details about near- death and other related experiences.” Near-death experiencers reveal:

Those who have caused pain to others report experiencing profound remorse for the harm they caused. While this awareness is likely to be very painful, it is said to be more corrective than punishment for its own sake. Ultimately, those who have had
near-death experiences—and returned to share their story and messages with the rest of us—typically report learning that “the ultimate purpose of life is to be a more loving person.” That is a message we can all take to heart.

signifi cantly reduced anxiety about the process and outcome. They now know what happens at the time we call death, and fear disappears.
4 They are sent back and told that
it’s not their time, while some note they chose to come back and were allowed to. Others explain they are just suddenly back in the body. This may imply that those who do not return found it was their time to “go into the light.”
These kinds of experiences cause many people to believe in immortality—that there is no death. Some report knowing that they have returned again and again, or reincarnated—sometimes to learn important lessons, or to make things right for harm they have caused. So, what of those who report having disturbing near experiences? Such reports are far less frequent than uplifting ones. Sometimes there’s a life review in which the individual
