CARTER STANLEY’S EYES REBEL RECORDS Rowan gathered several luminaries to join him on Carter Stanley’s Eyes; lead guitarist Jack Lawrence (Doc Watson), mandolinist/vocalist Don Rigsby, guitarist/vocalist Tim O’Brien (Bluegrass Dukes, Hot Rize); percussionist Jamie Oldaker (Eric Clapton); and banjoist/guitarist/vocalist Patrick Sauber (the film A Mighty Wind). They’re joined by Rowan’s bluegrass bandmates: Blaine Sprouse on fiddle and vocals, Chris Henry on mandolin and vocals and Paul Knight on acoustic bass. Together, they honour their forbears, staying faithful to tradition.

Now celebrating 23 years of touring and eight previous award winning albums, Danú still remain at the forefront of traditional music bands in Ireland. This album is a balanced mix of Irish/English songs alongside the bands iconic energetic instrumental arrangements.

WHITE TIGER STORYSOUND White Tiger, Ana Egge’s tenth album, has nine originals and one cover (John Hartford), and so amply displays her singularly articulate and affecting honesty and sensitivity. The album features guest appearances by Anais Mitchell, Billy Strings, Alex Hargreaves, and Buck Meek (Big Thief). Like the tiger in the title song, Egge, herself, is near- miraculous, rare but real, and, as Lucinda Williams said, “Listen to her lyrics. Ana is the folk Nina Simone.”

THE LAST WOLF TALKING ELEPHANT The Last Wolf contains material from all stages of Bob’s life and career, starting with ‘Fiddler’s Cross’, written in the early seventies when Bob was living in Leeds. The album was originally released on Rhiannon Records in the early nineties and Talking Elephant are pleased to have this little gem remastered and to include four special live performances as bonus material.

KAYEBA KASSO LUSAFRICA A new release on Lusafrica, Djeneba & Fousco were discovered very early on by Ballaké Sissoko, they embody the Africa of the 21st century where urban and traditional genres meet. Djeneba, her voice at once childlike and rock-infused, brings her lyrical flights to the beats laid down by Fousco, one of the best songwriters in Mali today.

A WILDER AND ANOTHER SIDE MUST HAVE MUSIC Due to public demand, five of the best songs from Wilder Side, together with five audience favourites from her 2012 album Mockingbird Sing have now been collected fot the first ever Carter Sampson vinyl release. PUNCH LUSAFRICA Punch is a rib-rattling collection of tunes and songs that are sure to please fans both old and new. The album was made with new members Tia Files (guitar, percussion, fiddle, vocals) and Sarah McFadyen (banjo, fiddle, guitar, vocals) who join Eilidh Shaw (fiddle, vocals) and original Poozie Mary Macmaster (electro-harp, vocals) who bring their own unique energy to the band. Their influence is clear to see and the injection of youthful exuberance and Northern Isles energy helps make Punch the band’s most exciting album to date.

LUCKY MUST HAVE MUSIC Co-produced with Jason Scott, Carter Sampson now delivers a wonderful album Lucky. It consists of seven mostly upbeat (co-) originals, including ‘Rattlesnake Kate’ (an absolute crowd pleaser) and three well-chosen covers. Shell Silverstein’s ‘Queen Of The Silver Dollar’ is a regular in Carter’s sets and Kalyn Fay’s ‘Tulsa’ feels like a state anthem to proud Okies. The album recorded with a stellar cast of Okie-musicians such as Kyle Reid, John Calvin Abney, and Jared Tyler shows the continuous growth of this charming and talented Okie girl.

CAS LÚNASA RECORDS Lúnasa is back with a new studio album Cas, their first studio album in seven years and also their first recording with guest vocalists. These include long time collaborators Natalie Merchant and Mary Chapin Carpenter, top bluegrass singer/songwriter Tim O’Brien, Blues recording artist Eric Bibb and Daoiri Farrell, a young Irish folk singer star who won 2017 BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards for Best Traditional Track, Horizon Award.
