Maritime Research and Innovation UK update
MarRI‐UK is a consortium of British companies, academia and government, formally established in July 2019.
The centre, offering exciting development opportunities for the UK’s £40bn maritime sector, is based at the University of Strathclyde, with nodes to be announced across the UK. The centre will provide a collaborative innovation vehicle to jointly tackle innovation and technology challenges.
MarRI‐UK is now open for year zero membership (
https://www.marri‐
uk.org/membership/year‐zero‐membership) to all UK companies irrespective of size. Year zero membership provides an opportunity for members to direct the establishment and strategy of MarRI‐UK. A workshop is planned for January to identify MarRI‐UK’s research and innovation agenda.
All members who join before January will be invited to participate.
Three tier levels for industry membership are available to suit a wide variety of companies.

TIER ROLE
Two calls are currently administered by MarRI‐UK Clean Maritime Call
£1.5M funding is available to fund technology, process innovations or services within mid TRL (TRL 3‐7) that offer significant improvements to systems, timings, processes or technology for clean maritime services and operations, and align with Maritime 2050 Zero Emission sub‐theme and/or the Clean Maritime Plan. The Expression of Interest (EoI) application submission is now closed.
Technology and Innovation in UK Maritime Call
£1.5M funding is available to fund innovative maritime technologies within mid TRL (TRL 3‐7) that demonstrate potential applications for innovative technology or for proof of concept of new ideas that offer benefits to maritime services and operations. The EoI application submission is open until 20th December 2019. Organisations are encouraged to submit their EoI applications. Successful applicants will be invited to submit a full proposal.
