Youngsters playing for a Somerton football team had a welcome surprise ahead of their biggest match of the season earlier this month. Local housebuilder David Wilson Homes treated members of Aller Park Rangers under 12s to a brand-new kit after hearing how hard they had worked this season. The five-star housebuilder, which is bringing new homes to Somerton through its Patch Meadows development secretly ordered the kit weeks ago as a special surprise. Its team colluded with the team’s managers to hide the gear in

the dressing room ahead of the team’s cup final match at Yeovil Town. Players were stunned to find a brand-new hit had been laid out for each of them, ready to wear for the game against Montacute Youth. Graham Hill, who runs the team, said: “It was fantastic to see the surprise and smiles on their faces. They’ve worked so hard and it’s really reflected in one of their best seasons to date. They thoroughly deserved a brand-new kit and we’re so grateful to David Wilson Homes for providing it.” Louise Ware, sales director

at David Wilson Homes, said: “Supporting our neighbours is really important to us. When we heard that the team needed a new kit we were only too happy to help. The team’s had a fantastic season and with the new kit they certainly look the part.”

Aller Park Rangers under 12s played in the Yeovil mini league and will move up to the youth league next year. They trained next at Patch Meadows, which features a range of two to five bedroom homes. To find out more about David Wilson Homes’ development in Somerton visit www.dwh.co.uk.
