The Show of Hands Trio looks a little different this autumn…
It’s been quite a 12 months for Show of Hands, featuring an extraordinary reaction to their haunting cathedral tour ‘Sanctuary’, sell-out shows at eminent venues like Shakespeare’s Globe and the Cutty Sark, solo tours, duo tours and Steve’s writing for the upcoming studio album. Miranda and husband Dan are embarking on their own adventure with their first baby due in November, and so Cormac Byrne (legendary percussionist of Seth Lakeman Band fame) steps into the breach with his spectacular talents to complete the Show of Hands autumn trio. Together, Steve and Phil will deliver the festival favourites that fans know and love, with Cormac adding a new twist. They’ll also showcase the results of Steve’s recent songwriting with ‘No Secrets’ ‘Make the right noises’ ‘Battlefield Dance floor’ and ‘Dreckley’ all featuring on the forthcoming studio album. Show of Hands play St Davids Hall on Friday 16th November. For more information call the box office on 029 2087 8444 or visit

include Welsh naturalists and TV presenters, Iolo Williams and Lizzie Daly, who are now being joined by executive producer of BBC Blue Planet II, James Honeyborne. Keynote speaker Iolo Williams is well known both in and outside of Wales as a naturalist, TV presenter, conservationist, writer, inspiring public speaker and he’s an MCS Ocean Ambassador. Cardiff- based wildlife biologist, Lizzie Daly is also an MCS Ocean Ambassador, and has been a regular face on CBBC and Cbeebies as well as working on various BBC and National Geographic productions. Lizzie will chair an inspiring session with gold medal-winning, Paralympian swimmer, Susannah Rodgers, MBE. Iolo Williams said:
“It’s
been a massive year for our oceans and I’m
delighted that MCS has chosen Wales to host this event. Welsh seas are amazing, teeming with life...but we must all work together to keep them that way. It’s great to see MCS highlighting the work of their many, many volunteers who work so hard at grassroots level to keep the diverse yet mutually linked issues of marine pollution and protection high on everyone’s agenda. I’m looking forward to meeting people at the event who love our seas as much as I do and sharing my marine ethos with them.”
