Saving energy is child’s play

Over 150 pupils from five primary schools across Cardiff have taken part in E.ON’s ‘Energy in a Play’ workshops, learning all about how to save energy and become more energy wise around the home. The day-long workshops took the groups of Key Stage 2 pupils through a variety of fun tasks and activities to explore the subject of energy. The young actors then learned and practised a play about the importance of saving energy, which they performed to the rest of their school at the end of the day.
The workshops form part of E.ON’s commitment to helping educate communities
across the UK about saving energy and smarter energy solutions.
Suzanne Doxey, Community Relations Manager at E.ON, said: “Our Energy in a Play workshops
are great as
they teach pupils about the importance of saving energy in a fun way and encourage all of the pupils to get involved and explore the subject of energy in different ways.”
Mr James, Headteacher at LLanedeyrn Primary School, said: “The pupils have thoroughly enjoyed E.ON’s Energy in a Play workshop and it’s encouraged them to get hands-on and to think about the topic of energy in a fun and
engaging way.” Energy in a Play forms part of E.ON’s broader educational activities, developed to help teach children about where energy comes from and how it’s used in our everyday lives. E.ON offers a range of educational workshops through its Energise Anything programme, which also includes online parent and classroom based activities. The activities support the national curriculum and have been designed to help pupils aged 5-16 understand all stages of energy production, distribution and consumption.
