CHILDREN SHINE AT THE ANNUAL CARDIFF CUP
As the World Cup in Russia kicked off, football fever hit the area as a festival of football the Cardiff Cup III, hit Cardiff as junior teams from across Wales, from areas such as the Vale of Glamorgan and Cardiff and far afield such
as places like
Swansea, Gwent and West Wales ascended on Cardiff Indoor Dome in leckworth. The non competitive festival organised by the Vale Sports Arena was aimed at U6 to U11 age groups saw over 80
teams and hundreds of children taking part in the prestigious football festival played under the FAW mini football rules. The standard of football was excellent, with football scouts flocking to the festival seeing so many children shine and in turn inspiring a
generation to get
involved in football. A Cardiff Cup spokesman said “ Cardiff is a city with a proud sporting heritage and we are proud to bring the Cardiff Cup to the capital for the third year in a
row.
It was
fantastic
seeing so many children playing and enjoying there football and we look forward to bringing the festival to Cardiff in 2019. Next years event will involve secondary school age groups as we continue to grow and grow and in turn provide more and more children with football opportunities” Next season Cardiff Cup IV event is on Sunday 9th June 2019 to receive an information and entry pack please email info@
