Wales announced as Partnership Nation for English Folk Expo 2018

It has been announced that Wales is to be the Partnership Nation for the English Folk Expo 2018. Supported by the Arts Council of Wales, 2018 will bring a focus on Welsh music at the sixth edition of English Folk Expo (EFEx), England’s annual industry showcase event for English folk, roots and acoustic music. EFEx attracts industry delegates from across the UK as well as a signifi cant international delegate contingent, and takes place at the new multi-arts venue HOME, Manchester and a selection of nearby venues, in association with the Manchester Folk Festival. Eluned Haf, Head of Wales Arts International at Arts Council of Wales said: “I’m delighted that Wales will be the Partnership Nation for English Folk Expo next year and we congratulate the success the event has had over the past fi ve years. It’s a great chance for Welsh artists to grow their careers both globally and in a key market on our doorstep and for us to develop the cross- border network with English festivals, presenters and musicians. EFEx has grown to be a great industry event that complements the work we have been supporting through the Cerdd Cymru Music Wales brand in partnership with Trac and T eatr Mwldan.
