RELOCATION OF BRANCH SUNDAY SCHOOL

N 2014 the Tabernacle opened a new branch Sunday School in Brixton. Known as the Minet Road Sunday School, meetings were held in the Marcus Lipton Youth Centre, Minet Road, north Brixton. Sadly, the youth centre was closed by police in February 2019 following the fatal stabbing of a young man inside the centre during a secular event. Work is still being carried out to improve security. Friends at Brixton Tabernacle Baptist Chapel kindly offered a temporary home for the Sunday School in their well appointed building in the centre of Brixton. Children were transported by minibus from Minet Road. Attendances have held up since the move and we have been encouraged to see new children from the Stockwell area starting to attend.


The temporary move has


recently become perma- nent. Brixton Tabernacle is surrounded by large hous- ing estates and we look to the Lord to bless outreach efforts to children and teenagers, and to bring many to a saving knowl- edge of the Lord Jesus Christ.
