Forbo delivers safety under foot at physio centre
Combining exceptional slip resistance with contemporary aesthetics, Forbo Flooring Systems’ STEP safety vinyl collection has helped to define and enhance the practical teaching space within the new state-of-the- art Physiotherapy Centre at the University of Winchester.
Veale Associates was appointed to design the key finishes of the new physiotherapy facility. As specifying a safety flooring was essential in order to prevent any potential slips, trips and falls caused by accidental spillages, it selected Forbo’s STEP safety flooring. It opted for a purple colour palette throughout the interior to reflect the university’s branding, with a few different colours to make the room more visually appealing.

Extra-strong Gyproc Habito plasterboard keeps building on track The construction of a new school in Southampton was kept on-track thanks to British Gypsum’s Gyproc Habito® plasterboard, which is capable of supporting 15kg per fixing without the need for specialist fixings or pattressing, simply using standard No 10. woodscrews.
Upon starting work on the £24m Bitterne Park School project, sub-contractors ACL Construction discovered that the original drylining specification was not sufficient to meet the school’s needs. A much stronger plasterboard product was required in order to support the variety of fixtures and fittings that would be attached to it throughout the school. British Gypsum came up trumps with its Gyproc Habito® plasterboard.
