PRIDE/BRITISH AIRWAYS LOVE HAPPENS HERE
Unite British Airways cabin crew member Neil joins with Unite British Airways and other members in celebrating this year’s spectacular Pride in London event on July 8.
Unite was out in force at the annual event which this year promised to be ‘London’s biggest and most vibrant Pride ever. Unite British Airways members were there protesting over pay, bullying and the plans to ‘wet lease’ aircraft from Qatar Airways.
Unite national officer Oliver Richardson said, “British Airways customers will be alarmed at Qatar Airways’ record on sex discrimination and the lengths British Airways is going to try an undermine lawful strike action.
“The time and money British Airways has spent on wet leasing aircraft and bullying striking cabin crew are resources which could have easily settled this dispute.”

CLEANERS/SECURITY ‘CLEAN’ PROTEST
June 15 was the international justice day for cleaners and security guards and Unite members joined in the protest.
“Cleaners and security guards are the people that keep our offices and factories clean, safe and operating,” said Unite national officer Rhys McCarthy.
“Without them
business would grind to a halt. Yet they are undervalued and underpaid. It is long overdue that this situation changed.”
