Exhibitor community lines up for FESPA Global Print Expo 2021
F
ESPA Global Print Expo and European Sign Expo 2021 are attracting a growing line-up of exhibitors, all enthusiastic to engage with customers and prospects face-to-face after a year reliant on digital platforms. The floor plan for the co-located events is building out steadily, with 200+ exhibiting companies already committed to participating in spring next year and many more in active discussions. The expanding exhibitor list includes many prominent names in screen, digital wide format and textile print, representing the entire production workflow from output technologies and workflow tools to media and inks. FESPA CEO Neil Felton said: “Since we opened the dialogue with our exhibitors about the spring 2021 events, we’ve heard a consistent message: they can’t wait to be at a live FESPA event again, interacting in person with people that have an appetite to learn, be inspired and make considered investments to drive
their businesses forward out of the current crisis. They see the event as a vital springboard to the sector’s sustained recovery.
“From the visitor’s perspective, senior decision-makers in speciality print and signage businesses are telling us that they want the opportunity to see the latest products and solutions close up, to compare and contrast what’s on offer from different vendors under one roof, and to be inspired again by getting away from a computer screen and interacting with product experts and industry peers in the real world. The virtual alternatives just don’t meet their needs.”
drupa online preview welcomes 1,900 visitors
O
ver 1,900 interested visitors took part in panel discussions and live web sessions during the drupa digital preview on Tuesday, October 27.
The drupa preview provided companies the opportunity to showcase their innovative products and reach their target audiences ahead of the live exhibition in April.
Erhard Wienkamp, COO Messe Düsseldorf, said: “The drupa preview also has a special significance for Messe Düsseldorf: it shows that even in times of crisis we can offer solutions to keep the industries interacting and networking. We are working intensively on
strengthening global communication not only through our local events, but also by expanding new, virtual formats." Sabine Geldermann, project director Print Technologies, added:
"The response from exhibitors and visitors following the first preview was very positive. drupa preview offers a valuable basis for regular customer contacts, enabling ongoing interaction within our community during this pandemic. Its digital format helps enhance our customer communications, focusing on the industry’s future topics. From now on, it is our goal to create a hybrid concept, perfectly combining the best of both worlds in order to ensure the April event can take place under optimal conditions.”
Around 1,900 experts took advantage of drupa preview. The proportion of international visitors was at 70% (Top five countries: Japan, India, UK, the Netherlands and Germany). More than 14,000 pageviews also highlighted the print community’s high level of interest in the content on offer. Around 1,400 exhibitors from 50 countries presented their products, solutions and applications within the Exhibition Space. drupa 2021 will take place in Düsseldorf from April 20 to 28.

Folker Stachetzki, marketing manager at Brother, the Gold Sponsor for FESPA Global Print Expo 2021, said: “FESPA is the most important trade fair for us to present our new products live to a wide audience. The cancellation of the trade fair in 2020, as well as all other restrictions caused by the pandemic, were tough for us, as probably for almost everyone. We’re therefore looking forward to FESPA 2021, to meet interested visitors, to exchange experiences with other exhibitors, and to be able to show our new direct-to- garment printer and other innovations from Brother in front of the public again."
Inks and primers for Roland's Texart XT-640S-DTG printer receive Eco Passport by Oeko-Tex certification
P
rimers and inks for Roland DG’s Texart XT-640S-DTG printer are now Eco Passport by Oeko-Tex certified.
Inks and primers are only awarded the certification after a series of rigorous tests, which dissect if each individual ingredient in the chemical product meets strict conditions. As a result of the certification, the products will now be added to the Oeko-Tex buying guide, the central sourcing platform for pre-certified articles and materials. Eco Passport is a globally recognised mechanism that guarantees to suppliers of textile chemical
colourants and auxiliaries that the
chemicals used in the
printed image meet
regulatory
requirements. It means that Roland DG
customers including sign, garment, and promotional goods manufacturers can confidently use the printer’s inks and primers in sustainable direct to garment print and production.
