New Roland SC-RD rotary axis creates opportunities in 360° UV printing
R
oland DG has boosted the versatility of the VersaUV LEF and LEF2 Series benchtop printers with a clever accessory that makes it possible to print directly on and around the entire surface of cylindrical objects.
The SC-RD rotary axis is quick and simple to install, which means printers can immediately start developing new revenue opportunities in the personalised print market. The SC-RD rotary axis complements the incredible printing power of VersaUV LEF-20, LEF-200, LEF2-200, SF-200, LEF-300 and LEF2-300 UV-LED benchtop printers. Roland’s new device enables these machines to extend their renowned versatility to print directly to the whole surface of cylindrical items. Matched with Roland's durable, high-adhesion UV inks, the SC-RD opens up unlimited opportunities for personalising items from bottles, cans and candles, to cosmetics and packaging. VersaWorks 6, Roland's latest and most powerful RIP software, integrates easily with the SC-RD, which means no need to spend time on changing the workflow and the standard rotary mode function makes it easy for you to switch between modes. The accessory can be easily assembled and installed in the VersaUV by the end user, so it’s ready to use whenever it’s required. There are no printer parts to remove or cables to connect – the SC-RD is powered by the VersaUV itself.
The SC-RD is an affordable way to offer new applications and access new markets. As an addition to an existing VersaUV workflow, or an integral part of a new investment, the rotary axis can help print businesses expand. It's ideal for packaging –

astex has introduced a prepress system for screen printing shops comprised of performance-matched components that reduce prepress time and increase registration accuracy. The package includes a washout booth to clean, inspect and develop screens; a semi-automatic screen coater to precisely apply emulsion; a drying cabinet to cure the emulsion; an LED exposing unit to expose the emulsion; and a pin registration system to preregister screens as well as accurately register screens onto the press. The stainless steel Washout Booth, model VWB-3627, comes with a frosted acrylic back panel and backlight to aid in visual inspection of the screen and frame during cleaning, inspection and final development.

Secabo launches modular Lite heat press series
ith this new development of the Secabo TC Lite toggle press, Secabo is launching a lucrative modular system that opens up a multitude of new possibilities
for price-conscious users.
More flexibility thanks to easily exchangeable components, in short, a basic product with great upgrade options. This means that the new Lite models have the advantage of retrofitting individual base plates or heating plates if necessary and simply replacing components.
The TC7 Lite (40x50cm) heat press and the TC5 Lite (38x38cm) have an additional cover plate for the heating plate to protect the user from burns. The structure of the LITE series

is fully modular, the control unit, heating plate, base plate and base frame can be disassembled and replaced in just a few simple steps. For example, the use of other heating plates is also made possible. The Lite transfer presses offer everything that makes textile transfers with Secabo so comfortable. All professional applications of the usual hot transfer processes such as flock foils, flex foils, sublimation, inkjet flex, etc. are of course possible.
The E2-5236 LED Exposing Unit, with 0.37 kW vacuum generator, exposes one 130x90cm screen or two 60x90cm screens in as little as 20 seconds, and achieves tight screen-to-glass contact in as little as six seconds for sharp reproduction of fine detail. The VRS Pin Registration System allows an operator to align film positives on all screens in register prior to exposing them, and to clamp each screen to the press in register in approximately three minutes per screen, greatly increasing press time, output and profit.
