IAAPA Preview
Frontgrid Virtual reality flying experience creator Frontgrid will be at IAAPA Expo Europe, showcasing its Paradrop VR Pod for the first time, with Frontgrid CEO Matt Wells and business development director Tammy Owens in attendance. Paradrop VR enables users to fly over any environment imaginable with
the creation of custom-built environments, inspired by location, giving an extra relevance to an attraction and increasing footfall. It was installed and launched this year at Adventure Parc Snowdonia in the UK and Sprockett’s Fun Factory in the US. Paradrop VR can now also be found at the RAF Museum Midlands as part
of the museum’s ‘Flight Zone’ offering. The installation includes motion-based hardware, called ParadropVR Rize, to create the sensation of flying under a parachute canopy, supported by the use of compressed air, which helps to give a further feeling of accelerating through the sky as the air rushes by. Visitors are able to feel exactly what it is like to fly just like the The RAF Falcons, the RAF’s military parachute display team. Visitors will be able to experience the Paradrop VR for themselves at the
Expo and can pre-book test flights ahead of the event. Find Frontgrid at Booth 1950.
Triotech
Interactive media-based attractions leader Triotech will be showcasing its new stand-up theatre attraction, where guests remain standing on two-by-two platforms, at IAAPA Expo Europe this year.
The attraction is part dynamic simulator, part flying theatre, and motion and immersion are greatly enhanced by the stand-up position. Special effects such as scents, blast, leg ticklers, water, and fresh wind have been added, transporting visitors into an exciting experience.
Stand-up platforms offer a high THRC and a smaller space requirement, making it ideal for venues such as FECs, museums, amusement parks, zoos and aquariums as well as touristic locations.
“We’re excited to meet our clients, prospects, partners, and friends in London. We have a lot of announcements and projects to share”, says Yannick Gemme, Triotech’s vice president of sales and marketing. He adds: “The European market is strategic for Triotech and we work in close collaboration with our French Division CL Corp to develop exciting attractions aimed at this segment.”
Triotech will be holding a press conference on September 13 to announce a new project with a leading theme park in the European market that is now expanding internationally. In addition, Triotech is also expected to present its latest projects and
installations around the world: the eighth NINJAGO: The Ride installed at LEGOLAND Resort Korea; the first installation of Hyper Ride in North America at Clifton Hills, Niagara Falls; as well as the opening of a unique double pathway walkthrough attraction for the OCT Group in China. Finally, Triotech will also showcase miniature, dynamic 3D versions of its
wide product range. These will include Interactive Dark Rides, 4D Theatres, VR attractions, Flying Theatres, Walkthroughs, Dark Coasters, and Interactive Theatres.
