It’s that time of year again! Everyone is headed to IAAPA Expo in Orlando. It’s the ultimate opportunity for our industry to share knowledge and showcase new products - but more than that, it’s a chance for people to come together. There’s no doubt this industry is about fun and friendship above all, and as Susan points out in a heartfelt Park Hoppin’ piece, IAAPA Expo exemplifies this. Meanwhile, on pages 18 & 19, you’ll find
Susan’s interview with Jim Pattison Jr, president of Ripley Entertainment, as he takes on the role of IAAPA Chairman - and it’s fair to say he’ll be presiding over IAAPA during an especially exciting year ahead. As we leave behind the hangover of the pandemic, industry is gearing up for a very busy 2023 jam-packed with new plans and projects. Lots of these will be revealed on the IAAPA Expo trade show floor, but we’ve got a few sneak previews for you in this issue of Park World as well - including a look at HOLOGATE’s awesome new Ghostbusters VR Academy, and SeaWorld Orlando’s Pipeline: The Surf Coaster. Who says you shouldn’t put people in
boxes? Lauren Wood Weaver takes us through 45 years of adventures with Sally Dark Rides on pages 26 & 27. Plus, we learn more about the team of experts enabling P&P Projects to deliver compelling turn-key solutions time and again, and we take time for some art appreciation following Skyline Attractions’ input on a rideable sculptural installation at the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art. And, as always, we’ve got news for you too.
