NightFlight Expedition to Debut at Dollywood


2026 is going to splash, soar and sing at Dollywood Park & Resorts with the debut of the largest attraction investment in the park’s 40-year history. Susan Storey reports.

the mystery of the legendary Secret Lake. The story will unfold as guests board remarkable ride vehicles that take them through four distinct and thrilling experiences. NightFlight Expedition is both a groundbreaking hybrid coaster and whitewater river ride presented with immersive storytelling and breathtaking imagery. NightFlight Expedition will be the first attraction


experience of its kind in the world. Dreamed up, created and built by Dollywood, Herschend Creative Studios and Mack Rides, the custom- designed amphibious ride vehicles will interact with vivid multimedia projections, dynamic onboard and offboard audio, and special lighting effects. An original storyline will entrance guests  Smoky Mountains on a nighttime flight, conquer

raging rapids, traverse a mountain ridge on a roller coaster and glide by boat across a shimmering lake. The idea for a night-themed excursion is especially exciting for Dolly Parton,  lot of people ask me about my favourite season in the Smokies, but no one ever asks me what my   mountains at night, which is the time that I think they really come to life! Great Smoky Mountains National Park is known for the synchronous lightning bugs, but I also love to just sit and listen to the owls calling or the frogs croaking, and I love to see the stars sparkling like rhinestones up  During the live announcement at the park in
