Hello and welcome to another issue of Park World! Though I’m a miserable brit, even I have trouble moaning about the weather now that we’ve properly had the chance to dust off our shorts and burn our shins together as a nation. If skin damage was an Olympic sport, I’m pretty sure the United Kingdom would have a far more healthy-looking trophy cabinet. I do, however, feel that in such a sport. Gold wouldn’t be the accolade to aspire to; I’d go bronze, silver, gold, and then the pinnacle of success… lobster red. Hmm. Lobster… Anyway, gibberish aside, we’ve got a smashing issue for you this month, so thanks for picking us up (or swiping us right, or double tapping us, or whatever it is you young people do these days when it comes to reading magazines).

We’ve got a collection of great articles for you this month, not least of which is a chat with nWave’s Goedele Gillis in our regular Industry Insider feature (page 18).

This month “our Tom” (as we like to call columnist Tom Anstey) is snooping through Universal’s latest mega projects, each looking to take immersion to a new level.

IInn this month’s Big Question (p5) we find out how Dreamworld,WhiteWaterWorld, SkyPoint, Efteling, LLinnanmäki Amusement Park, Toverland and Ripley tertainment are managing to keep guests entertained while gates are shut.

“Our Susan” (which I’m now trapped referring to everyone as) has been out and about as always, and this month stops to take a close look at SeaWorld Orlando’s “Expedition Odyssey” which promises to take guests on an incredible journey to the Arctic, showcasing the diverse array of species that call the icy climate their home (page 20).

I, myself (or “our Matt” as I must now call myself) have been chatting to the likes of Hello Park (page 26) WhiteWater (page 32) and World of Rides (page 24) to bring you their latest news, as well as checking out a new experience: The Legend of TITANIC: The Immersive Exhibition (Page 36). “Look Jack!” I shouted while blowing a whistle up my nose, “I’m the king of the world!” - or something like that (truth be told, I half-watched the film a couple of decades back and don’t remember an awful lot. We’d invented a drinking game where you had to take a shot every time there was water on the screen. Jeez that was a mistake. The Titanic wasn’t the only thing that broke in half and went down to the sound of screaming that night I can tell you. Many souls were lost. Along with a coffee table).
