COLOMBIA IN FIGURES During the IAPPA Latin America Meeting, it was confirmed that the countries that lead the sector in the region are Brazil and Mexico, where investments do not stop, followed by Colombia. 


Association of Attractions and Amusement Parks (ACOLAP) reported that the union brings together 50 percent of the companies in the sector and has 120 members who together operate more than 240 establishments, located throughout the country. 


Vanegas, stated that after a very productive 2022, the previous year the parks only increased their sales by 10 percent, which means a reduction in the dynamics that the sector brought after the pandemic and a contraction in demand, attributed to the economic crisis that the country is experiencing. Vanegas stated that, according to the most recent studies, in Colombia,


about 19 million visitors annually attend theme parks, water parks, bioparks,  more than 30,000 employees, the most of whom are young people who have their first job. Among the most important achievements of ACOLAP during 2023 are


the 100 parks that achieved the Safe Seal, and the training of more than 60 Colombian technicians, thanks to the alliance with AIMS, an entity that certified them in best practices.
