he merger between amusement park giants Six Flags and Cedar Fair is on track to be finalised shortly, as confirmed by both companies in their recent financial updates. In Cedar Fair's latest financial statement, President and CEO Richard Zimmerman expressed satisfaction with the merger's progress, stating: "We are pleased that Six Flags shareholders overwhelmingly approved the merger-of-equals transaction, which we remain confident will conclude before the end of the second quarter."

"Teams from both companies are diligently working on the initial phases of a joint integration plan, which will enable us to fully realize the strategic benefits of this merger once it is completed," he added.

In terms of financial performance, Six Flags reported first-quarter revenue of $133 million, marking a 6 percent decrease from the same period last year, despite a 6 percent rise in park attendance. Cedar Fair, on the other hand, reported a record first-quarter revenue of $102 million, reflecting a 20 percent increase, with attendance up by 27 percent, reaching 1.3 million guests. Upon completion of the merger, the combined entity will boast an enterprise value of approximately $8 billion and will manage 42 amusement parks and 9 resort properties across 17 U.S. states, Canada, and Mexico.
