Momentum Leisure opens third theme park in Poland

omentum Leisure celebrated the Grand Opening of its third theme park in Poland, Majaland Gdask, on June
29. After the successful openings of Majaland Kownaty (2018) and Majaland Warsaw (2022), the Amsterdam-based developer and operator of theme parks is strengthening its position in the growth market of Central and Eastern Europe by adding Majaland Gdask to its portfolio. The opening is accompanied with the signing of two important license agreements, which allows Momentum Leisure to integrate the beloved Smurfs from Peyo Company as well as the iconic characters from Nickelodeon series including SpongeBob SquarePants and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. They will be welcomed by existing popular characters from Studio 100 like Maya the Bee and Vicky the Viking. Momentum Leisure is proud to reinforce its
Intellectual Property-based strategy with the launch of Majaland Gdask and the signing of long-term agreements with Peyo Company and Nickelodeon.

focused on Poland as its driver for growth. The opening of the third park fits perfectly in the strategy of becoming a major player in the leisure industry of Central and Eastern Europe. By acquiring and developing attractive locations and presenting highly popular characters in its parks, Momentum Leisure has been able to secure a prominent position in the emerging theme park market of Poland. In April 2024, Momentum Leisure announced the partnership and cooperation with Mitiska-REIM to develop its fourth theme park in the south of Poland, the city of Gliwice, Europa Centralna.

Massive surf and water park approved for Melbourne Legoland New York to open new Minifigure Skyflyer ride

outdoor surfing and water park in the entire Southern Hemisphere. It's been in the pipeline for a long five years, with some doubting that it would ever come to fruition. However, after a lengthy government approval process, this mega aquatic adventure park is set to become one of the most exciting new attractions Melbourne has gained in quite some time. Melbourne is set to gain yet another addition to its long list of world-class attractions, with the biggest indoor-outdoor surfing and water park in the entire Southern Hemisphere. Surf 'n' Play Aquatic Park will be a sprawling, state-of-the-art water park in Melbourne's South East, in the unassuming suburb of Dingley Village, between Moorabbin and Mordialloc. Spanning 38,200 square metres of indoor and outdoor space, it'll be the largest attraction of its kind in the country. It comes from the same designers that delivered the Melbourne Aquarium and Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre (MSAC).
The site will have a dedicated surfing section with wave pools, generating up to six waves per minute that can stand up to six feet tall. There'll be up to four surfing zones, with areas for all skill levels from beginner to regulars. It will also feature classic water park attractions, with plans for six huge water slides, gamified water tunnels and a lengthy, lazy river. There's no official word on exactly when this attraction will open, but the two year construction period should hopefully kick off within the next year.
A new attraction - Minifigure Skyflyer - will open at Legoland New York later this month. What is hoped to be a record-breaking the occasion, carrying on the message that (and yes, guests are being encouraged to wear glitter, sequins and other disco-themed clothing and accessories!)
