Dark Rides
sensitivity to content compared to 20 years ago. This has increased our level of challenge, because we want to continue to offer immersive content, beautiful to look at, but also crafting ad hoc content to reach a strong union between the various elements. For example, working for Fly and Dome formats it is necessary to adapt our work to curved screens, always thinking about the POV of our guests: we’re obviously used to doing it, because we’ve always used these formats, but to maintain that harmony with everything else you always need to be very attentive to the whole. At the same time we need to think about how much standards have
risen thanks to the content we constantly have on digital platforms: this drives us to have to raise our benchmarks and aim higher and higher. It’s not exactly a dark ride in the classic sense, but at Leolandia,
with the PJ Masks attraction, we have stayed true to our philosophy of immersion with CGI content. It is a walkthrough, which simulates a museum with rooms within which a pre-established path must be followed, accompanying visitors through a themed story. There is a high level of involvement and certainly we have noticed that this aspect makes the dark rides among the most popular attractions. Speaking about dark rides of ours, we can mention Tata World, the first
one made at VinWonders amusement park in Vietnam. With 11 unique scenes, it uses long boats that take visitors on a journey through the wonders of our planet. After an introductory show that contextualises the narrative and tells
the story of Princess Tata, seven different boats take visitors through the Pearl of Happiness, the Land of Jungle, Land of Ocean and so on, with special effects that give the illusion of being in a much larger space than was actually created. It is a very special journey through the wonders of nature.
