an incredible end behind the arcade building, give guests a one-of-a-kind roller coaster experience. Inspired by Arie’s father’s lifelong passion for flying, flight, and planes,
ArieForce One sets the stage as a place you may expect to find Top Gun’s Goose and Maverick walking through.
The experience begins as guests enter the queue line leading into a hangar- style building. Themed sets and displays look like an aircraft stand, where pilots prepare for their next adventure through the air. Two exclusive, state-of-the-art, themed coaster trains await guests at the top of the steps. Everything from the team member spiel to the ceiling banners help guests mentally ready themselves to soar through the air at speeds of 64 mph. ArieForce One’s runway – first hill – begins with a climb up a towering 154- foot lift hill. Once at the top, the train is thrust down a steep 83-degree first drop and then forward for 100 exhilarating seconds of weightlessness, airtime, inversions and the first-ever Raven Truss Dive. The flight never pauses or stalls, and even throttles through two Zero-G Rolls that mimic what it is like to pilot a fighter jet through the clouds. The coaster’s third inversion is a barrel roll over the park’s arcade. Guests unfamiliar with ride terminology call the inversion the ‘arcade roll’ which describes the element nicely as it roars over the roof, taking the train to the ‘hidden’ part of the experience. The track continues behind the arcade, into a surprising 180-degree, ground-hugging turn into the final inversion. The last moments include four ‘bunny hill’ drops that look like the easiest part of the ride and yet continue to deliver the never-ending force and flight that begin with the very first drop. Eventually, the train stops and peacefully rolls back into the hangar. ArieForce One is the single largest investment Fun Spot America has ever made at one of its parks. Through its partnership with RMC, the company fully cash-flowed the $13 million coaster to perfectly position it for opening season – and beyond.
“ArieForce One is the realisation of our dreams,” Arie continued. “My father’s lifelong passion for flight inspired my wish to create a coaster that features the very best elements ever found on a roller coaster. That wish is now alive thanks to RMC’s innovative expertise. I could not be more proud or excited by this coaster.” When looking at the extensive lattice supports of the attraction, Arie is particularly proud of one unique element that doesn’t involve riding.
Keeping guests guessing “The one red rail/one blue rail design was new for RMC, but something I knew would set ArieForce One apart from the other coasters they have built. I also knew it would intrigue coaster fans and our guests. The colours celebrate our Fun Spot values and create an optical illusion. Our guests look up from the queue and wonder where the ride will take them as they see the red and blue rails seemingly cross over each other. We keep them guessing which way the track is going to twist and turn – even while they are riding!” Having officially opened on March 31, ArieForce One has greatly broadened awareness of the park. In addition to being open to single day guests and season passholders, ArieForce One is quickly becoming the stand-out star for group business, attracting local school outings as well as exclusive events for organisations like IAAPA, the American Coaster Enthusiasts and more. “We want everyone to take flight on ArieForce One,” Arie finished. “We are hearing that families are making plans to visit Georgia just so they can take on our new coaster. We are thrilled to welcome everyone here not just for the ride, but also to see our park and all the ways we continue to improve and expand. For 25 years, Fun Spot has focused on providing safe, clean fun for all. With ArieForce One, and all of the attractions we offer at our parks, we want everyone to know that tradition remains as we continue to provide memories and experiences that are HUGE.”
