CW: And what about the impact on the current production process? KR: We are ensuring a smooth transition by keeping our current production running as usual until our new location is set up. As of now, it looks like the move will take place between June and August this year. We are already in the process of setting things up in the UAE and selecting a number of upgrades to modernise our processes. In the future, MSL will adopt an even more automated production process with the involvement of more robotics, ensuring accuracy and consistent quality with a faster and more cost-efficient approach.
CW: Will MSL be using new vendors or suppliers? KR: For some of our supplies needed for production, we will be using new vendors. This includes our aluminium channels, which will be locally supplied in the UAE. The quality of all our supplies will be the same, if not better. We aim to create products of the highest quality and will certainly take advantage of the many local vendors in the UAE who supply materials of excellent quality. However, many of our supplies are already of the highest quality in the industry and will therefore remain the same. This includes our LEDs which will still be produced by Osram.
CW: processes? KR: The UAE includes advantages such as significantly lower customs taxes for products exported to other countries and lower shipping costs (this varies depending on country). Many processes and services in the UAE are also much more efficient and this will therefore be reflected in our prices. This includes skilled labour, which is abundant, and insurance, which is much superior. For employees, healthcare is much better in the UAE and we’ll be able to provide housing with improved living as well. This was a major deciding factor for us as we take social responsibility into consideration. We aim to provide many benefits for those who decide to work with us as we value every single one of our team members, many of whom have been with us for a long time. Their experience both in the industry and with MSL ensures that they’re able to work with precision and skill, making MSL products the best in the industry!
CW: Will MSL be changing its leadership? KR: We’re very proud to announce that MSL will not be changing its leadership! We value our family-owned element and we won’t be changing this. Our leadership will always appreciate the long-term personal connections with clients and understand that trust is important to customers who choose us. In addition, many of our processes, such as quality checks, rely on our experts who have been with MSL for decades and know our products and customers best.
CW: Will MSL be recruiting a new team of experts? KR: For a number of reasons, we will be bringing many of our long-term employees with us. They’ve worked with MSL for decades and are the best at what they do. We understand that many members of our team rely on MSL as a means of providing a living for both themselves and their loved ones; we do not wish to take that away. But in addition to retaining many of our current members, we’ll be recruiting a number of new experts as well.
CW: What do these changes mean for MSL’s sister company, GigaLed?

KR: GigaLed will also benefit similarly from all of MSL upgrades and changes as both lines are produced in the same factory. Our customers from both brands will experience the same advantages.
CW: What does the future look like for MSL? What’s next? KR: We are always moving forward into new ventures and aim to expand and improve as a company, so expect a much broader product line and more sophisticated technology (like our new controller V5.5!), including more advanced production processes. We plan to venture into new areas in the technology and invention industries so we can provide an array of products and services for our customers.
