COMPUTING & IT RESOURCES Delivering a future-ready Student

Nick Barratt, Executive Director, Student Journey at Royal Holloway, University of London said “We are delighted to be working with TechnologyOne as we move forward, and very much look forward to building greater flexibility and resistance into our work, to the benefit of our students and colleagues.”

TechnologyOne partners with more than 90 higher education institutions across the UK, including University of Lincoln, University of Bradford, University of Buckingham, and University of Leicester - providing deep higher education expertise via its proven SaaS+ model.

“This is about more than replacing a system, it’s about enabling real progress with the right partner. Our student solution on our true SaaS+ platform will provide Royal Holloway with a solid foundation for continuous improvement in this area and enhance the student and staff experience.”

Stuart MacDonald, Chief Operating Officer, TechnologyOne

T

he partnership follows a competitive tender process in search of the right Software as a Service (SaaS) partner to support Royal Holloway as part of the University’s wider developments in digital infrastructure.

A key factor in the decision was TechnologyOne’s SaaS+ model, which combines software, services, and ongoing optimisation in one fully managed solution, meaning greater agility and improved service delivery. Unlike traditional software deployments or generic SaaS offerings, TechnologyOne’s SaaS+ model reduces implementation complexity, guarantees predictable upgrades, and embeds expert support throughout the lifecycle of the system. This proven framework allows institutions like Royal Holloway to pursue innovation without jeopardising continuity, compliance, or service quality.

Stuart MacDonald, Chief Operating Officer, TechnologyOne said “This is about more than replacing a system, it’s about enabling real progress with the right partner. Our student solution on our true SaaS+ platform will provide Royal Holloway with a solid foundation for continuous improvement in this area and enhance the student and staff experience.” The new platform will support the entire student lifecycle, from application through to graduation, while ensuring compliance with all UK regulatory and reporting requirements.

Royal Holloway is set to benefit from: • Streamlined and simplified operations through a targeted operating model • Enhanced data integrity and analytics for better decision-making • Greater efficiency by freeing internal resources to focus on value-added student services

• Improved collaboration across departments through a unified system. November 2025 www.education-today.co.uk 45
