Nikki takes on Sales Manager role for Waterline in North London
BiKBBI – Collaboration is key for the future of the KBB sector
T
he annual BiKBBI Conference took place last month in Westminster, where more than 170 representatives from KBB manufacturers, suppliers, distributors, retailers and installation businesses assembled to discuss and debate the challenges and opportunities facing our sector. The theme of the day was collaboration and throughout the day speakers and panellists demonstrated just what can be achieved when industries work together.
As an industry we have achieved so much, but as I said in my opening speech at the conference, there is still much to do and we face some of the most significant hurdles ahead, not only the ongoing economic and political uncertainty in the short-term, which is largely out of our hands, but also the greater challenges that we can control, such as education and development and, of course, the skills shortage. It’s time to accept that there is no magic pill to solve our issues, no knight in shining armour that will ride in at the eleventh hour to save us. The solution and the power to rescue our sector from catastrophe sits firmly with us - all of us. As the only institute of its kind representing the national network of installation businesses that serve the KBB industry, our growing partnerships with corporate sponsors, strategic partners and retail partners has become a vehicle for collaboration, and we continue to see an increase in awareness and engagement from the wider sector, as brands seek an opportunity to join the conversation and play a part in shaping the installation workforce of the future.
