INDUSTRY UPDATE

Forth & Clyde, launches an incentive scheme on Franke products for its customers

Scottish based, Forth & Clyde Distribution Ltd has launched a sales incentive scheme for Franke products. Customers can earn £10 for the sale of any Franke stainless steel sink (inset or undermount), £5 for any tap including instant boiling water taps and filtered water taps, and £5 for any waste disposal unit (WDU). If all three products are on one invoice an additional £10 is earned – giving the retailer £30 cashback. In addition to this, retailers can earn £20 for any Franke hood sold – which

is doubled to £40 for the first hood claimed so, a retailer could effectively earn £70 cashback in one transaction. The kitchen studio incentive programme is available through the Franke

Rewards programme, initially up to 31st December 2019. Forth & Clyde Distribution serves retailers across Scotland. To sign-up to

the scheme customers of the distributor should register at Franke’s dedicated website www.frankerewards.co.uk. Upon approval, retailers will receive the pre-paid Mastercard® and will simply upload their invoice to the portal for the card to be credited. The prepaid loyalty card can then be used in the usual locations including shops and restaurants, as well as at cashpoints. Terms and conditions apply.

IDS customers receive luxury prizes in 20th anniversary calendar draw

Specialist surfaces distributor IDS has announced the latest winners from its 20th anniversary monthly calendar draw, which sees the company reward 12 customers with luxury prizes throughout 2019. IDS launched the competition in January to mark 20 years in business

and to thank customers for their support over the past two decades. The most recent competition winners are Connor Construction who took away a Bose TV and sound system worth £2,000, Office Life Solutions who scooped a luxury break for four at the Celtic Manor resort including three rounds of golf and spa treatments and Ridgeway Furniture who won a trip to Venice for two including opera tickets. Customers who spend £200 on a specified IDS product each month

qualify for entry into the prize draw with the winners being selected at random. Kevin Baldwin from Baldwin Plastic Laminates was the lucky winner of a

stay in the luxury Gleneagles hotel and golf resort after entering the draw in June. He said: “We had an absolutely amazing time. The Spa was incredible, the golf fantastic and the hospitality and food at Gleneagles was second to none.” The final two prizes up for grabs are a supercar experience and his and hers TAG Heuer watches worth £4,000. Further information about the competition and remaining prizes to be won can be found in IDS’s 2019 calendar. The promotion finishes

BMA steps up campaign on non-compliance with Primary Authority Status

T

he BMA has announced that it has achieved Primary Authority Status with Nottinghamshire Trading

standards, having been successfully nominated by the Secretary of State. The Primary Authority Status is a formal partnership that is recognised in

statute and overseen by the Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS). BMA CEO Tom Reynolds said,

“This is an important milestone in our campaign on compliance. The BMA and its members will have access to formalised advice and guidance on compliance matters, and it signals to the industry our commitment to champion those that invest in bringing compliant products to market. “Gaining this status allows us to

push forward our plans including a code of ethics audit. We will also introduce a market surveillance system, which will allow members to raise awareness of cases of non- compliance. “We are determined to ramp up the noise on the compliance issue and

create a level playing field, so that companies that invest in compliance are not disadvantaged in the market place by those that neglect their responsibilities.”
