Two-tone sanctuaries For years, bathrooms have been dominated by safe, neutral palettes, but homeowners are now embracing a more confident approach to colour. Rather than committing to a single shade throughout,
two-tone bathrooms are on the rise, using complementary and contrasting tile colours to add personality and drama to spaces. The latest ceramic and porcelain collections from Tile of Spain demonstrate how combining two colours creates bathrooms that feel stylish, timeless and effortlessly individual. María D Arráez, Director of Tile of Spain UK, comments on the
trend: “Bathrooms don’t have to be neutral to feel timeless. Choosing two colours that work together gives you far more flexibility and creates a room with more character – whether you choose soft earthy tones or a bolder contrasting combination. We are seeing more homeowners looking to add personality with pattern – and vanity areas and showers are key spaces to do this. Providing opportunities to be playful yet sophisticated with bathroom design, introducing tiles in alternating stripes and checkerboard layouts is proving popular, naturally drawing the eye in and making everyday areas more of a statement. “Instead of covering every surface in the same tile, combining two
different colours helps define different zones within the bathroom. It’s an easy way to introduce colour without feeling like you’ve committed to something too bold.”

50 years after summer ‘76, Britain’s water challenge is becoming the new normal As another exceptionally hot and dry summer places pressure on water resources across the UK, Cistermiser is urging the industry to make water efficiency a higher priority, warning that the conditions which led to the company’s creation half a century ago are no longer a once-in-a-generation event. The summer of 1976 remains one of the most severe droughts

in UK history. Fifty years on, the UK is once again experiencing record-breaking temperatures and prolonged dry conditions and 2026 has seen all time temperature records broken in consecutive days.
Despite growing awareness of sustainability, significant volumes
of treated drinking water continue to be wasted in commercial and public buildings through inefficient washroom controls, ageing cisterns and poorly managed water storage systems. Cistermiser’s range of water-saving technologies, including
infrared sensor controls, direct flush systems and intelligent urinal flushing products, are designed to reduce unnecessary water use without compromising hygiene or user experience. By ensuring water is used only when required, these solutions can help facilities managers and building owners achieve substantial reductions in water consumption across offices, schools, healthcare facilities and other commercial premises.

It’s all about the flush: Geberit launches TurboFlush technology at every price point
Geberit has expanded its range of WCs featuring the innovative TurboFlush technology, giving retailers access to enhanced flush performance at every price point. TurboFlush is now available across Geberit’s Aspire and
Bathroom Collections, which means greater choice for all customer groups, irrespective of their budget or design preference. With this expansion, the manufacturer is urging bathroom
retailers to ‘focus on the WC system’ – highlighting that the most important decision in the bathroom is the one people don’t realise they’re making. This follows research from Geberit which shows 85% of people have felt frustrated that a toilet flush didn’t work properly. Only half of people can remember being given information
about flush performance when buying a toilet, even though 42% said it was more important than ‘look and style’, 39% said more important than colour and 42% said more important than price. A spotlight on (Turbo)Flush Geberit’s TurboFlush technology sets the standard by powering and directing water into the toilet interior – boosting performance, minimising cleaning requirements and reducing noise. It uses an asymmetrical inner geometry to guide the flush water
in a powerful vortex through the bowl, ensuring thorough and complete cleaning. As a result, it exceeds the flush performance required by international standards by up to ten times and minimises flushing noise.
