Finishing Tables: Laminators and applicators

Soyang Europe specialises in delivering wide- and superwide- format print media solutions.

W hen it comes to

lamination, attention to detail and accuracy is

of paramount importance if you want to deliver high-quality work to customers. Get this process wrong and it could result in an untidy finish that leaves both the print service provider (PSP) and their customer dissatisfied. Speaking with Sarah Fenna, Sales Director at SoyanG Hardware, we asked her how Soyang has positioned itself as a key print service provider. Sarah tells us, “It is key that PSPs invest in trusted lamination equipment that will provide a quality finish on all printed work. After all, you do not want to waste time and money by having to go back and print pieces again if they are let down by shoddy lamination.”

Sarah continues, “Soyang Europe, more specifically Soyang Hardware, is well positioned to support PSPs with their lamination queries. Soyang Hardware is the new name for Josero, the specialist wide-format print equipment provider that was acquired by Soyang Europe in May 2022. Its new name brings the business under the wider umbrella of Soyang Europe, which is already known for its specialism in delivering wide- and superwide-format print media solutions.”

So, where should PSPs begin when it comes to investing in new hardware? Sarah tells us, “Our advice would be to speak with manufacturers and suppliers; help them to understand your production process, the applications you are creating and the capacity you require, as well as any issues you are currently experiencing. This will allow their own specialist team to make suggestions on new machinery.” Sarah elaborates on the aftercare process for their customers. “You should also ensure you are working with a supplier that will support you

not just during the buying process, but throughout installation and after the machine has been installed at your facility. At Soyang Hardware, we offer an excellent level of aftercare and support to customers to help them get the most out of their machines. Asking Sarah what lamination solutions does Soyang offer, Sarah says. “As for the lamination hardware solutions we have on offer, Soyang Hardware works with several of the leading manufacturers in this area, giving customers access to a range of options. Our partners include Vivid Laminating Technologies, through which we can provide machines from the Easymount range of roll-to-roll laminators. We also stock the Mimaki LA-160 heat-assisted laminator as well as the Kala Mistral 1650 and 2100 head- assisted, top roll laminators.” Expanding on the variety offered to customers, Sarah says, “For larger- format work, we would recommend the Bubble-Free Pro Flatbed Applicator, which allows a single operator to mount and laminate a range of materials in super-fast time while eliminating the danger of bubbles or creases that can

often ruin laminated work. The Bubble- Free Pro can be used to mount and laminate onto any flat surface up to 60mm thick and is available in three widths – 1,500mm, 1,700mm and 2,200mm – offering users maximum working widths of 1,450mm, 1,640mm and 2,140mm, respectively.” When we ask Sarah about what the future holds for Soyang, Sarah replies, “The work does not stop for Soyang Hardware. We are constantly on the lookout for the best solutions and are always seeking to add more options to our range to ensure customers can make use of the latest technologies in lamination.”
