Hi vis vests to fight mental health
Roland DG will support the St John Ambulance through a new campaign to get construction workers to open up about their mental health. Working with the printer company, the first aid
charity’s ‘Hi Vis Stress Vest’ initiative was set up to start the conversation between construction staff about mental illness. Research found 67% of industry employees felt a colleague was suffering with mental wellbeing but would not speak up. These vests have been designed using
Roland’s TY-300 direct to film (DTF) printer and will adorn slogans across the back in hopes of starting a conversation. Stephen Davis, EMEA marketing director at Roland DG, said: “At Roland DG, we believe in the power of print to do more than just create visually striking designs – it can also help spark important conversations. “The Hi Vis Stress Vest campaign is a great example of how innovative printing solutions can play a small but impactful role in supporting social change initiatives.” Vests have already been handed out to companies and celebrities with TV builder, Tommy Walsh, being sent one.

New all-in-one printer solution from HP
HP has unveiled a new compact latex printer to help print service providers (PSPs) overcome the hurdles of rigid printing while taking advantage of new commercial opportunities. Named the HP Latex R530, it is the only all-in-one compact HP Latex printing solution and delivers consistent, high-quality output across various media types.
With automatic recirculation and print head
cleaning, businesses can enhance uptime and reduce maintenance costs. The single-phase power system provides effortless installation in limited spaces. The company has also emphasised sustainability, giving it innovations such as direct-to-rigid printing, which reduces waste and UL ECOLOGO-certified HP Latex Inks.
This change was made to eliminate trade-offs associated with traditional flatbeds for customers and gives small and medium-sized PSPs a solution to elevate their operations and scale sustainably. Daniel Martinez, global head and general manager of HP’s large-format business, said: “Organisations
