IT’S TRADE SHOW SEASON!


Spring always signals new beginnings, renewal and growth and with that comes a raft of new machinery launches as we head deep into trade show season.


Sign & Digital UK and Printwear & Promotion LIVE! came to a close in February, where several bits of transfomative kit were introduced to attendees, and with the FESPA Global Print Expo just around the corner, my inbox is fl ooded with updates from manufacturers revealing details about the cutting- edge and innovative wide-format solutions they will be showcasing for the very fi rst time at the exhibition.


If you haven’t made the call yet on whether to travel to Berlin, then take a read of our insightful interview with Michael Ryan, head of FESPA Global Print Expo; it might just sway your mind!


Talking of all things new, we asked several wide-format print providers what features they would like to see in the wide-format machines of tomorrow. The answers might just surprise you, with key words such as sustainability, AI and versatility all thrown into the mix.


Sustainability appears to be a big theme for the industry at the moment, and as such, in this issue, Ben takes a look at the humble ink cartridge and fi nds out what manufacturers are doing to lessen the impact on the environment this area of print production has.


Finally, with International Women’s Day being celebrated in March, we thought it would be rather timely to catch up with Izabella Ivanovici, co-founder of Women in Signs and Graphics. Izabella tells all about how she entered the industry and the work she and her co-founder, Sarah Fenna, have done over the years to raise awareness of the role women can play in the industry.
