PHAM NEWS | MARCH 2026 Product News 37 Heat pump fi lter for a dirt-free system

Designed to optimally protect heat pumps against both magnetic and non-magnetic contamination, the SpiroTrap Heat Pump Filter (HPF) from Spirotech benefi ts from a smart design, high dirt removal capacity and ease of maintenance. The new fi lter’s design is based on

extensive fi eld research in residential installations across several European countries, combined with Spirotech’s years of expertise in water quality and dirt separation. The core consists of three synergistic components:

risk particles larger than 160 µm. • Powerful magnet – removes

• Fine mesh fi lter – captures high-

magnetic dirt particles, even in the lower micrometer range.

• Patented Spirotube – slows the fl ow

and directs particles toward the collection zone. Thanks to this combination, the fi lter is

relieved of excess load, the fl ow remains optimal, and the system is protected over the long term, without a bypass, ensuring that no particle can

escape fi ltration. The SpiroTrap HPF has been developed with the

heat pump’s maintenance interval in mind (on average every two years). The integrated backfl ush function makes fi lter cleaning simple: with a single turn, the fl ow direction is reversed, and accumulated dirt is discharged via the drain valve – no disassembly, tools, or spillage required. The housing is made of high-

quality brass, resistant to pressure and

temperature fl uctuations. The SpiroTrap HPF is available in multiple connection

sizes (22mm, 28mm, ¾", 1" and 1¼") and suitable for systems up to 2m3

/h. Spirotech says that installers will be able

to count on fewer heat pump failures and more satisfi ed customers, while for end users it means a dirt-free system, extended heat pump lifespan, and lower maintenance costs. Available from April this year, the SpiroTrap HPF

comes with a 10-year warranty. ◼ phamnews.co.uk/326/68

Marley has launched Technical Tools, an online platform designed to make it easier to plan and specify integrated solar PV roofi ng solutions. It features an intuitive confi gurator which calculates panel numbers, associated fl ashings and accessories, and provides guidance on expected kW output. It also automatically adjusts roof tile quantities to refl ect the inclusion of solar PV, delivering a transparent overview of materials and installation requirements from the start of a project. Users can manage multiple roofs or plots, store past projects in an archive for traceability, and access guided steps for product compatibility, fi xing requirements, and error checking, helping to improve accuracy, transparency and project effi ciency. ◼ phamnews.co.uk/326/71
