Extended warranty options for ground source models
UK ground source heat pump manufacturer, Kensa, has announced a new warranty for all ground source heat pumps sold after 1st February 2026, introducing clearer terms, longer coverage and parts-and-labour contribution as standard. With more manufacturers offering comprehensive warranties that include parts and labour, Kensa’s new warranty ensures customers receive clearer protection throughout the lifecycle of their heat pump. Kensa will offer three options: Free one-year out-the-box warranty: valid from shipment, includes parts and labour allocation; Free four-year standard warranty: valid from commissioning, registration required within 30 days, includes parts and labour allocation; Paid eight-year extended warranty: prices from £480 for a single heat pump – purchased at point of sale only, valid from commissioning, includes parts and labour allocation. Commenting on the new
warranty, sales director David Billingsley says: “Our new warranty is designed to give
Simplifying heat pump installations
Heat Saviour is a UK-developed product by Hewer said to cut heat pump installation time, disruption and labour costs by 20%. The compact, pre-assembled unit sits beneath a standard hot water cylinder, transferring the heat fed from the heat pump through a plate exchanger, which indirectly powers the central heating system. Unlike traditional systems,
runs independently of existing central heating. This, says the company, reduces installation time, minimises disruption and can save homeowners up to £2,000 per installation. Using glycol only in the heat

customers greater clarity, better protection and confidence. Our heat pumps are built to last, but when faults do happen, it’s vital that our product warranty mirrors Kensa’s hard-earned reputation for quality customer and technical support. “Offering this warranty is also a
timely investment in our network of partner installers.” ◼

Viessmann has introduced a new installation approach for its Vitocal 150-A air source heat pump family, aimed at simplifying system configuration. The update separates outdoor units (ODUs) and indoor units (IDUs), making each outdoor unit compatible with all new indoor unit models. This allows installers to select an indoor unit that fits the specific needs of a building, whether for new construction or retrofits, independent of the outdoor unit’s output. The four new indoor units in the Vitocal 150
series are designed to reach flow temperatures up to 70°C, enabling the continued use of existing radiators without requiring underfloor heating.
pump circuit, it cuts glycol use by 80%, making it more environmentally friendly and allowing radiator maintenance without draining the system. A built-in backup heating element can be manually or remotely controlled via Vericon Systems, preventing downtime during maintenance or pump failure and reducing engineer visits. ◼
