Claimed to be the most extensive range of thermally sensitive diffusers on the market, the new ThermaAstute from GILBERTS BLACKPOOL has been developed to help reduce energy consumption as part of a building’s ventilation strategy, and to contribute towards enhancing occupant comfort by minimising variations in ambient temperature. Complementing the temperature-
reactive swirl diffusers already available, Gilberts can now offer jumbo and high-capacity linear slot diffusers, jet nozzles and drum louvres. The thermally sensitive diffusers work
by detecting even slight variations (±2°C) from the preset ambient temperature and adjust airflow between horizontal and vertical to maintain a comfortable, draught-free environment – within seconds. The process ensures rapid initial warm
up, and avoidance of uncomfortable draughts, hot spots and cold dumping. Further, it optimises energy efficiency of the building services by getting the heated or cooled air to where it is most needed. This reduces unwanted load on ventilation/air
conditioning plant and variation. It also helps to maximise occupant comfort and health and wellbeing which in turn boosts employee productivity and safety. Virtually maintenance-free, the ThermaAstute diffusers need no external energy to operate and require no external wiring or controls.
