Finally, Sébastien Waxin, Head of Racing at NACON, explains to Vince Pavey why now is the time for Nacon to get their hardware out there on the simulated tracks, and why e-racing tech being modular is important

Revosim is NACON’s first venture into racing hardware. What makes now the time to do that? After over a decade developing and publishing racing games, we’ve built a solid understanding of what players expect from their simracing hardware. Revosim is the natural next step, it’s the result of years of R&D from our internal team dedicated to premium gaming accessories. With nearly 30 years of experience crafting gaming hardware, and a strong presence in the racing game

space, now felt like the right time to bring our expertise together and enter the world of simracing equipment.

What makes Revosim different from other top brands in the space? While we’re launching with the RS Pure bundle, Revosim is much more than a single product. It’s a fully modular and future-ready ecosystem. We’re designing multiple ranges of products that are all compatible with one another. The goal is to give players the freedom to build their ideal setup, based on their preferences, space, and budget. You can mix and match components across different tiers, upgrade gradually over time, or customize your rig to suit different racing styles. It’s about flexibility and long-term value for the player.

All of the Revosim tech is modular, and parts can be swapped out based on game context or even use-space. What makes that important? We’ve designed Revosim with real-world use in mind, whether you’re playing from a full cockpit or from a desk. Our Direct Drive base, for example, can be mounted from the side or bottom, making it compatible with virtually any chassis. And for newcomers, we include a desk clamp right in the box, no need for extra purchases. The pedal set is highly adjustable to suit different body types, playing positions, or racing styles, whether it’s GT, Rallye, F1, or casual desk setups. On the wheel,

modularity goes even further:

players can change keycaps and use custom stickers to adapt the layout to their preferences. The wheel is built around a hub + rim architecture, meaning you can swap out just the rim at a lower cost as we release new models. Plus, our mobile and desktop app allows full customization, from tuning force feedback and RPM LEDs to applying and sharing custom presets per game.

When I think ‘racing sim cockpit’, I often also think ‘I’d have to take out a mortgage to afford it’. How are you making yourselves more approachable to would-be racers? We hear that a lot. Simracing can feel intimidating at first, both financially and technically. Our goal is to lower those barriers. That starts with offering great performance at an accessible price and making sure our users feel supported in building their setups. For instance, with our hub + rim architecture, players can expand their experience by just purchasing a new rim instead of a full wheel. That means going from GT to Formula-style driving at a fraction of the cost, without compromising on quality.

Is the hope that products purchased now will always be usable down the line with new releases? Absolutely. Long-term compatibility is built into our design process. Every new product we develop is designed to integrate seamlessly with existing Revosim gear. We want our players to feel confident that they’re investing in a platform that will evolve with them, not one they’ll have to rebuild from scratch in a year or two. Our ecosystem is designed to be both cohesive and scalable, so every new component adds value to what you already own.

On that note; what’s next for the Revosim range? We’re starting strong with the RS Pure series, which includes a 9Nm Direct Drive base, a wheel, and a pedal set. In the coming months, we’ll expand the lineup with an open-wheel style rim, a hybrid H-pattern/sequential shifter, a clutch pedal, and a load-cell handbrake. We’re also preparing to unveil a new product line with a different price point, and we have some exciting announcements in the pipeline that we think players will really appreciate.
