Tate & Lyle PLC (Tate & Lyle) recently hosted British Ambassador Nigel Baker and distinguished guests to mark the opening of expanded capacity at its Boleráz facility in Slovakia for Non-GMO PROMITOR® Soluble Fibres. The €25 million investment is the initial phase of a program aimed at boosting Tate & Lyle’s fibre capacity for European and global clients, with added sustainability benefits through supply chain optimization and energy efficiency. Igor Kovačovič, Tate & Lyle’s Boleráz Plant Manager,
noted the facility’s
cutting-edge technology will enable broadening
existing PROMITOR®
product lines and introducing new ones. This expansion aligns with increasing consumer demand for dietary fibres, meeting evolving customer needs for enhanced nutritional benefits. Tate & Lyle’s research shows over half of global consumers plan to increase fibre intake. With growing demand for sugar
reduction, fibre plays a vital role as a nutritious bulking ingredient. PROMITOR® Soluble Fibre, a corn-
based soluble fibre, offers high digestive tolerance and nutritional benefits at lower inclusion levels. Abigail Storms, Tate & Lyle’s SVP Fibre and Sweetener Platform,
highlighted the company’s
leading position in soluble fibre production across three continents. The new capacity enhances fibre supply security,
meeting rising consumer
demand for easily accessible fibre- enriched nutrition. The launch of the expanded capacity
coincides with a surge in consumer awareness about the importance of dietary fibres for overall health, immunity, and mental well-being. Not only does this
initiative address the increasing
need for fibre, but it also supports Tate & Lyle’s commitment to sustainability through supply chain optimization and energy-efficient operations.
