Fudge Kitchen launch new fl avour as part of their New Year New Flavour campaign
To celebrate their 40th year artisan confectionery business, Fudge Kitchen, ran their highly anticipated New Year New Flavour competition. The annual event is a chance for all 6 of their high-street shops to battle it out, putting their NPD skills to the test, to create a brand-new fudge fl avour. The winning fl avour is then rolled out throughout their stores and on the Fudge Kitchen website. 2023 is a big year for Fudge Kitchen as it marks 40 years in the
confectionery business. What started out as a handful of fudge shops has evolved into a fully-fl edged artisan confectionery business with an extensive product off ering, a strong wholesale network and own label production for the UK’s most prestigious hotels and department stores. The New Year New Flavour Competition took place on Monday 16 January (Blue Monday) at Fudge Kitchen’s production site in Aylesham, Kent. The business invited guest judge, Stefano Cuomo - CEO of Macknade Food Hall, to join their judging panel. The 6 fl avours entered were Atomic Fireball Fudge, Red Velvet Fudge, Old-School Toff ee Fudge, Sour Cherry Fudge, Jam Donut Fudge and Merry Berry Fudge. After much deliberation (and lots of taste testing!) the winning fudge fl avour was announced as Old-School Toff ee Fudge – created by Fudge Kitchen Canterbury. In the words of the shop manager, “It’s the fl avour that made us famous, and the fl avour that our customers miss. We’ve tweaked the original recipe so there are fewer ingredients to source, and we’ve used our skills and knowledge from many years of fudge making to reimagine an old-school classic.” Runners up were Jam Donut Fudge from the Windsor store and Sour Cherry Fudge from the Edinburgh store. Fudge Kitchen pride themselves on their commitment to remaining innovative,
